What happens if I miss a class?

You can take up the missed class again at any time given time when you can.

What is the modular structure? And how does it benefit me?

The complete course is divided into 18 (13?) different independent modules which cover all the required topics from Data Interpretation, Verbal Communication and Quant. One need not take these modules in any specific sequence and thus anyone can build a time table convenient to them at the same time maximising
It is beneficial as it gives the freedom to choose the topics as required.

How is GMAT preparation different from CAT preparation?

The skills required for both GMAT and CAT are very similar. The exams, however, do differ in their formats and thus the method of preparation would differ a little too. GMAT is an adaptive test. Adaptive tests adapt to the examinee’s ability level. Besides testing a candidate’s analytical reasoning, quantitative and verbal skills, it also tests the candidate’s writing skill through Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA).

Will I be able to prepare for exams like XAT, SNAP etc other than CAT?

Yes. All MBA entrance exams are in essence aptitude tests including CAT. However, you might have to prepare specially for certain extra sections such as general knowledge and essay writing for exams like XAT, SNAP and IIFT.

How will I get to know which colleges to apply and when?

You shall be duly notified of the registration opening and closing dates for college and exam applications. You could also benefit from workshops we conduct to help you in your decision of which colleges and courses you want to apply to.

What is adaptive learning?

It is a program established to upgrade your current level of knowledge, to the next level. The learner is provided with sufficiently challenging tasks of plus one level in order to relatively upgrade your mental capability and capacity.

I believe I need coaching only for a few specific topics. Can I structure my study schedule around those?

Yes, you can pick and choose the topics you want to study from the 18 set modules of the course and forego taking the whole program.

Can I choose which faculty member’s classes I want to attend?

Yes, you can choose your own faculty member, whenever you feel the need.

Can I attend the same topic with different faculty members?

Yes, you can attend the same topic with different faculty members.

What has been your success rate?

What is the class size at Alchemist?

The class size strength is not more than 25 students.

I work in shifts?

The modular system at Alchemist allows you to make your own bookings and choose your own timetable as per your availability and free timings. Classes run from 10 am in the morning to 7 pm in the evening in 2 hour slots. You can books slots convenient for you. To book your timetable click here

Can I change my timings and center?

Yes, you can change the timings and the center as per your own convenience. You can do so while making bookings in your timetable.

Can I repeat a topic?

Yes, you can keep on repeating a topic, until the time you are comfortable with that topic.

What if I am not able to keep up in classes and do not understand?

You can repeat a class for any topic, if you do not understand any module. You can even take a basic level class for a module even if you are enrolled in for an advance level course.

I am working and have long office hours?

You can take up the online content program, wherein you will be provided with classroom lectures videos, PDF files, E-books, discussion forums and online exercise sheets to help your learning.

I am weak in a particular area?

Not to worry, the most important step is to identify your weak and strong areas. Once you have done that it’s only a matter of devoting more time and efforts on your weak areas. At Alchemist you can do that by choosing more number of modules of that particular topic in your course structure. You can start with the preparatory modules and move on to the advanced ones gradually.

When is the right time to start preparing for CAT?

Preparation time for CAT may vary from student to student. The first step for preparation for any exam requires you to identify your strengths and weaknesses.
